[Section I: Iwami Kagura] Nô Dances
Mt.Ôe

On Mt.Ôe, in Tanba-no-kuni (modern Kyôto Prefecture), the Saké drinking Demon summons a large group of followers, including the Chinese-bear Demon and the Thorn Demon, and wreaks havoc on the good people of the capital and surrounding villages, making life quite difficult for everyone. The emperor sends Minamoto no Raikô, a capital guard highly regarded for his bravery, and four of his strongest men to dispel the demons. Disguising themselves as mountain ascetics, they head for Mt.Ôe. In the mountains on the way, they meet the god Sanzu-ga-taku, who gives them magic saké and a sword. They are shown to a stone cave by mountain people cutting grass and by the Momiji-hime, who had been carried off from the capital by the demons. The men hold a banquet for the demons in the cave, telling them that their magic sak'e is actually saké from the capital, and thus make quick work of the careless demons. This concludes the three-part story.
